ROMAN MISSIONARIES:
DOT ELLIOT & ANDREA & HEATHER GENTILE

HOW HAS THE COVID CRISIS AFFECTED YOUR TEAM IN ITALY?

In January 2020, the Roman team (Andrea and Heather Gentile, Dot Elliott, Faith York, and Jeremy and Lindsay Zigerhorn) moved their ministry into the "digital world." In February 2021, Andrea was given the responsibility of Team Expansion's Assistant to Field Coordinator to assist Wayne Meece. Andrea's duties involve digital communication with and visits to Team Expansion missionaries in Italy and Europe, along with teaching and ministry work.

HOW HAS THE CiAMPINO CHRISTIAN CHURCH RESPONDED TO THE COVID CRISIS?

The Roman team (Andrea and Heather Gentile, Dot Elliott, Faith York, and Jeremy and Lindsay Zigerhorn) met on Zoom to plan how to minister without breaking COVID rules. After much prayer, they asked the Ciampino (pronounced Champino) Christian Church if the team could use the building as a ministry hub during the week. The church agreed, and on April 14th, 2021, CENTRO INCONYTRO WAS BORN! (https://www.facebook.com/centroincontrociampino). The team provides Bible studies and prayers for both men and women, for the churched as well as the unchurched. Since its opening, they've distributed Bibles and given spiritual and physical aide to the public suffering from COVID restrictions. In November, Heather got her certification as a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language). Because of this certification, she was able to meet with officials of the town of Ciampino to help interview and select an urban planner for the town, and received publicity for the center. Dot Elliott teaches English to foreign children at the ICA - International Christian Academy in Rome. Both Heather and Dot give English lessons using the Bible, and the students "pay" with donations to help the needy.

what effect will the Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24th, 2022 have on Rome?

It is too soon to know the effect of the recent outbreak of war in Europe, but our team relies on Christ who has all authority in heaven and earth. God has provided bountifully for us during the COVID crisis, and will see us through this political unrest in Europe.
